ADDICTION NEEDS TRUTH - HERE'S MINE
I'm Ashley — a counsellor, author, and the founder of the School of Addiction. My work sits at the intersection of neuroscience, trauma, addiction recovery, and human connection. After overcoming addiction, childhood trauma, PTSD, and the long-term impacts of stress, ADHD, autism, and bipolar, I became determined to understand what truly helps people heal — not just survive.
Over the past 17 years, I've studied childhood, counselling, trauma therapy, psychology, addiction studies, nervous-system science, and recovery models, building a compassionate, holistic approach rooted in what I call Relational Neuroplasticity — the idea that human connection has the power to rewire the brain.
I believe addiction is not a choice or a character flaw — it's a survival mechanism, a wounded response of the brain and body. And because the brain can change, recovery is always possible.
My mission is simple but bold:
To bring truth, clarity, and compassion to the conversation around addiction.
To attack addiction from every angle — neuroscience, therapy, community, embodiment, mindset, and practical tools.
To help people build sustainable recovery, not just temporary relief.
To break generational cycles, starting with self-awareness and emotional safety.
To make recovery accessible, honest, and grounded in lived experience.
I host live sessions on YouTube every Monday, Wednesday & Friday at 9am and 10pm GMT, offering open Q&A, real-time guidance, and a supportive space for anyone facing addiction or mental health challenges.
I'm here to help people feel seen, understood, and empowered — because addiction and mental health are two sides of the same coin, and healing becomes possible when we bring them into the light.
